Jessica Critcher is a Marine brat and a Coast Guard wife, so she isn’t from anywhere and doesn’t stay put for very long.
She earned a BA in English from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and is currently working as a freelance writer in Boston. She loves to combine her passion for writing with her rage against patriarchy, so you might recognize her from her regular contributions to Gender Focus. You may also have seen her at a Socializing for Justice event, where she works as an assistant organizer.
In addition to being an ardent feminist, an unapologetic atheist and a halfway decent guitarist, Jessica is a card-carrying nerd and a tattooed hooligan.
